I can speak as a person with first hand experience with several elderly family members over the course of 20 years. This problem can be a vicious cycle and until you identify it as the cause of the side effects/symptoms. To learn more about the signs here is a nice short article about it.
After spending last-night at an emergency room with an elderly family member, the story is the same...From a lack of exercise/movement and fiber and enough liquids, the problem started with the use of stool softeners, enema & least and last option magnesium citrate that took care of the constipation then resulted in dehydration. Compounded by medications that naturally add to the equation too. So a couple of options using Essential oils or other treatments can be researched.
As always please do your own homework/research and just stay alert what some of the symptoms can be and if addressed early enough maybe the resolution will be less traumatic than ending up in the ER.
