We experienced nearly all of the unexpected 1st annual bumps in the road, starting with a hour and 1/2 wait on the 181 loop to go 3.4 miles while traffic was being directed in and out of the event from both directions. With countless cars turning around and deciding the wait was not for them even if they had paid in advance for their parking. A bonus was getting to see several scissor-tailed birds in the area.
As I was observing the landscaping at the clubhouse I spotted these beauties fluttering about, which gave me an hour of entertainment.
I wish the event organizers all the luck in the world for next years event and hope they learned from this one, that everything in TEXAS is always expected to be on a GRAND scale and plan accordingly.
