Our Christmas present to each other was to spend some time in the mountains of Texas to recharge our souls. We started our adventure on Christmas eve around 4 am. We took our time and stopped a couple of stores in San Antonio and then on to our traditional stop at Gibson's in KERRVILLE TX for sparkles for our fire pit. Our dear friends were at home there and had time for us to visit with them for a few hours before heading onward and westward. We arrived around sundown and managed to capture this picture which I think reflects the feeling of a Christmas eve. We tried to call the park to let them know we were running late and no answer... panic welled over me and I wondered if we were going to be like Mary and Joseph looking for place to stay the night before Christmas. Fortuntely they had a backup plan for after hours guests and we did just fine. Unknown to us was the knowledge that the Davis Mountains had a dusting of snow earlier that morning. Mike thought I was seeing things when I said it looked like snow on some of the mountains. So calling it a night and ready for our adventure early Thursday Morning we got a good nights sleep. Then up early and on the road as we got closer and closer to the mountains I was convenienced that I saw snow... and then there is was on the side of road....patches of Snow.... oh how perfect is that. So as cell strength would allow off and on all day we were busy trying to send pics to friends and family to share in our excitement. Later that night as my husband was catching up on Facebook, he laughed out loud ....Ironically our Friend Judy had posted to Facebook that the Davis mountains had snow on Christmas eve... so naturally we had a good laugh over that. Would love for you to take a moment and enjoy our little Christmas trip. View Pictures
As you can imagine this Grandma ma took lots of pictures but this not only pulled on my heart strings, but mommy, daddy and grandpa all agreed this was the shot. He is just 2 days shy of being 6 weeks old as his proud daddy is holding him at the beach. Words can not explain the pure joy of getting to watch my beautiful daughter and the best son - in - law anyone could ask for, be blessed with such a miracle. Most of you have never known me to be speechless but for me this picture is worth a 1000 words wouldn't you agree.
