HOPING YOUR 2018 IS STARTING OUT GREAT!
2017 was nothing short one of the hardest roller-coaster rides for so very many of my extended family and friends. More turbulence than normal for a year in my book. Thank goodness it ended on a high note.
We lost Mikes Mom In February of this year.
Enjoyed Memorial day weekend with the grandsons.
The extended Pizio side of the family is relatively small, nearly all were affected by the hurricane season this year. Alabama, Florida and Texas were all hit 2017.
Blessed to have special friends and family that took us in for the evacuation and recovery process.
So many of our friends and neighbors lost everything and are still dealing with clean up and rebuilding. We continue to experience survivors guilt that we were able to come back to a home that was still here and was repairable. Our land lord and his son was awesome about getting the repairs done in spite of all of the major damages his home sustained.
Several friends and family have experienced separations and divorces in 2017. Several more experienced emotional trauma in which they are recovering from.
South Texas enjoyed SNOW and we had three inches in Rockport. Loved seeing so many unique baby snowmen.
My Christmas wish list consisted of visiting with several of the staff from my Jr high School and a pot luck dinner with some really cool ladies. Finally got to see Candy Cane lane in Corpus where nearly every home was decorated and many of the families were outside serving Hot Coco and candy canes.
Both Grandmas were able to spend both of their Birthdays and another wonderful Christmas with those handsome grandsons and their cool parents to wrap up the year. We were to have a brunch with our Cousins too. Watched my oldest grandson count to 10 and help his mama make cookies. He was very helpful. Christmas is magical with Kiddos of this age.
One of my dear friends has been on a journey to find your birth family and she was successful in reuniting with her Mother and two full siblings in 2017. Being an observer of her journey is such an added gift.
Expectations for 2018 are simple. Looking forward to less drama and more joy and peace each and every day.
