For me, these numbers and pie portions represent beautiful women who are hopeful for themselves but more so hoping that a cure will be found and spare another Grandmother, Mother or Daughter from this disease.
These ladies are a sisterhood all to their own. There is a sense of true understanding and support that is like none I have experienced before. For many of us this is a another battle with a secondary cancer. So we are not strangers to the cancer craziness.
While we are all individuals and unique in our own ways, this disease places us on common ground in which to give support and guidance to one another on a daily basis.
There are several other types of Ovarian Cancer, however Epithelial appears to be the most common one, so this is where I started this survey. In time I hope to present others on the less common known ones.
My heart felt thanks goes out to all of these 114 women who took time to complete this survey and to whom I call my Teal Sisters.
We all hope this will contribute to a better understanding of each other and know that we are not alone.
