Oh the calling of Blue Northers! Cold fronts are like a cup of dark chocolate (Cacao) to me.
The Seridipity & Synchronicity today for me how with in a months time how this has all played out for me.

Many years ago I really enjoyed listening to the stories that Maclovio Perez use to tell about his rancher/farmer friends and how the animals reacted to the weather. This was one of those light bulb moments when I realized how truely connected each and everything is to one another.

About 2 years ago hubby humored me and drove me to Kingsville in hopes that I could find a book that would share the stories of the farmers/ranchers relating to weather.  We were unsucessful in our attempt but met several intresting people along the way.

On 97.5 radio station that plays real country, the morning host Chuck Abel made a comment a couple of days ago about how we normally get our 1st blue norther for the season in a couple of weeks. "The first cool front we get here usually comes in the form of a "blue norther".  Since it is flat here you can often see a dark blue line off on the horizon(not rain necessarily) that lets you know a front is coming down from the north where the  temperature can drop pretty significantly(into the 70's or 60's..grin) in a short period of time.   And the blue line in the distance lets you know its coming.
Hearing that brought back childhood memories because that was what my papa would call them. I always experianced great joy when I would get to watch one come in. If he was home he would take me to the bayfront so that I could watch them blow in.

So this morning I was reading the weekly newsletter from WWN newsletter article titled  The Weather Watchers  by Sherrill Pool Elizondo. I cried happy tears to read her story because it brought those sayings and stories  back to life again for me.  Thank you Sherrill for energizing my weather passon as we look forward to our first real front of the season.
So please take a few minutes to go down memory lane with Sherrill's reflections of Texas and the hill country too.
