It has been a long and emotional three weeks for many people in Wimberley, as they try and move forward after a raging Blanco River destroyed dozens of homes and killed at least nine people in that town. Two children are still missing. The thought of more rain is terrifying for some.
Clean up continues as the community morns the loss of the beautiful people and their Cyprus trees too.
Amazed at how many people had some sort of connection to the people that perished in the floods or to Wimberley itself.
Last week I learned that both my boss was up there doing clean-up and our Fulton Fire Chief was up there assisting in search and recovery missions.
Some may still have a hard time understanding how Flash Flooding happens so here is a link to a flash flood simulator that shows how water runs off in hilly terrain.
Here is another link to some pics of just one of hundreds of cleanup projects there in Wimberley Texas that my boss shared.
I just want to send a HUGE Thank you out to everyone that has helped in the recovery of the hill country. Each one of you Makes us TEXAS PROUD
