So very pleased to say that I have been accepted as an Ambassador with the NOAA Weather Ready Program.
Many of you know how passionate I am about weather and being prepared for any kind of possible national disaster not just hurricanes so a couple of weeks ago, Johnny at The Fulton Weather Channel suggested that I might be a candidate for this program, I looked into right away. I completed the application and shared some of my contributions to overall weather preparedness over the years and said a few prayers that maybe they would consider me for the program.
While I know in my heart with or without the program, I have been and continue to be committed to educating myself and others on how to be prepared, this endorsement sure feels good.
I am here to encourage anyone that has a passion to follow it, and to always listen to your initution or what some may call gut instinct.
This past Friday I was writing a post about Hurricane preparedness and then got a chill, I knew then I needed to regroup and do a post of Flash Flooding in the Texas Hill Country. Many coastal residents go up there for the summer holidays to go tubing etc. Texas has been in a drought for over 5 years, that flash flooding doesn't seem possible but it is. With a borrowed quote of " turn around don't drown" I said my prayers and hoped that maybe just maybe it would help someone, a family member as well as Emergency Responders from unnecessary harm.
We all know that this past weekend was one of the worst in terms of loss of life and unaccounted ones due to flash flooding.
Please take time to watch this video on how flash flooding invades a home and the aftermath.
Hello I am Rosemary
I am a Sky Warn Spotter, and a CoCoRaHS devoted volunteer working together with others to measure and map precipitation. Recently I also received the endorsement of being a Weather Ready Nation Ambassador. It is important to be prepared for weather events and hope that you find my weather page full of helpful information.
